Ticket Policies

All tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable. We are unable to issue exchanges or refunds after a purchase has been made. This is including but not limited to lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed tickets. Tickets will be emailed to you upon the completion of your order.

A valid admission ticket that is purchased online shall become invalid upon the expiration of the time frame and/or date stated on the ticket. Admission tickets purchased online may only be used for admission during the selected time frame and/or day that was selected during checkout.

Admission tickets will be accepted for entry on the day selected during purchase during listed operation hours. Visit length will not be limited. Please check our Calendar of Events for exceptions to our hours and a list of closed dates, special hours, or early closures. We recommend arriving at least 2 hours before building closure.

Resales of any admission tickets without prior and express authorization from Discovery World are strictly prohibited. Admission tickets cannot be transferred, refunded, or exchanged. For guests’ safety, all children must be accompanied by a chaperone age 16 or older.

Notice of Filming and Photography

Please note that when you enter Discovery World, you enter an area where photography, video, and audio recording may occur. By entering Discovery World, you consent to photography, audio recording, video recording, and release, publication, and exhibition to be used for websites, social media, advertising, and promotional purposes. You release Discovery World from any liability connected with the publication and use of interviews, photographs, video, and audio recordings. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering.

Parking Disclaimer(s)

Discovery World closes at 4:00pm, unless otherwise stated. All vehicles must be removed from Discovery World’s underground parking garage by 4:15pm. There is no overnight parking. Any vehicle left in the garage after 4:15pm will remain locked in the garage until the next time Discovery World is open.

Apply Your Ticket to a Membership

Planning to visit us again soon? Turn your recent ticket purchase into a full year of unlimited exploration. Simply bring your receipt to the Admissions Desk or call the Membership Department to apply your purchased ticket towards the cost of a membership. This special offer is valid for membership purchases made within seven (7) days of your visit and must be completed either in-person or over the phone. Be sure to contact us before the end of your 7-day period to take advantage of this exciting opportunity!

Please note that we can only apply the number of purchased tickets that would normally be covered under a membership. For example, if you purchased 4 adult tickets, but are looking to buy a Family Level Membership, only 2 of the purchased adult tickets would be applied as part of that membership level.

If you have already purchased a membership, you will not be able to apply past ticket purchases retroactively. Memberships cannot be fully or partially refunded.

Access Admission Discount*

Your family qualifies for discounted admission if you are a Wisconsin resident that participates in Wisconsin Works, WIC, My WI Childcare, Wisconsin Quest, FoodShare, BadgerCare, or Medicaid. Must present a Wisconsin EBT card, along with a valid ID.
Families who qualify will receive admission at $7/person for up to five (5) individuals.
To use this benefit, ask for the Access Admission rate at the Admissions Desk when you check in.
This discount is only available for purchase in-person at the Admissions Desk. The discount cannot be retroactively applied to online or kiosk ticket purchases.

Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program

Members of participating museums receive reciprocal free admission for up 2 named adult cardholders and children age 17 and under from the same household.
The ASTC Travel Passport Program has distance restrictions in place. The participating museum must be located more than 90 miles from Discovery World and your home residence must be more than 90 miles from Discovery World. This distance is measured as a straight line distance, not a driving distance, so please be aware. For instance, the Milwaukee Public Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry are within 90 miles of Discovery World and so those locations are not eligible for ASTC free reciprocity.
This discount is only available for purchase in-person at the Admissions Desk. The discount cannot be retroactively applied to online or kiosk ticket purchases.
To receive this discount, you will need to present a photo ID plus a membership card from your home museum. We do not share a member database with other museums and cannot look up your membership for you.

Group Visits & Field Trips

Group reservations must be made at least three (3) weeks in advance.
Group rates are only available for groups of 10+ paying people with advance booking.
Full payment, final headcount, signed agreement, and other required items are due two (2) weeks prior your visit date.
Group rates and programs are not valid with Discovery World memberships or any other discount or promotion.
Groups may not use Discovery World membership benefits towards group visits.

Blue Star Museum Discount (Seasonal)

From Armed Forces Day to Labor Day, active duty military personnel and up to five (5) family members qualify for free admission.
This discount is available for those currently serving in the United States Military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard – including reservists, National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five (5) family members.
Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card.
This discount is only available for purchase in-person at the Admissions Desk. The discount cannot be retroactively applied to online or kiosk ticket purchases.
