Take to the skies during Flight Day at Discovery World!

Join us for Flight Day, a celebration of everything that soars, glides, and flies. Explore the science behind flight through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and special presentations featuring airplanes, rockets, birds, bats, and more.
Meet pilots, wildlife experts, drone enthusiasts, and STEM professionals as you discover the forces that make flight possible. Design and launch paper airplanes, explore model rockets, meet live animal ambassadors, learn about bird migration and bat conservation, and enjoy flight-themed family activities throughout the museum.

- Live raptor presentation from Schlitz Audubon Nature Center – Raptor Program
- Conservation exhibits featuring monarch butterflies and purple martins with Racine Zoo
- Hands-on STEM activities with MSOE Space Raiders Lunabotics
- Model rocket exhibits from Woosh Rocketry
- Visit with Lakeshore State Park staff to learn about how birds eat
- Flight-themed crafts and activities for kids with the Kohl’s Design It! Lab
- Meet Southern Flying Squirrel ambassadors from the Wildlife in Need Center
- Test your bird knowledge and explore migration with Wisconsin Society for Ornithology
- Learn all about bats with the Wisconsin Bat Program
