The Milwaukee Fire Department Boat Team will celebrate the return of the fireboat Trident during a public recommissioning ceremony on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Discovery World on Milwaukee’s lakefront.
The Trident has spent the past 18 months undergoing major renovations and upgrades, and the vessel is now ready to return to service supporting marine firefighting and emergency response operations throughout Milwaukee Harbor and Lake Michigan.
The ceremony will include the official christening and recommissioning of the Trident, followed by a live on-water demonstration showing the fireboat’s maneuvering and firefighting capabilities.
After the ceremony, attendees will be able to tour the newly updated vessel, meet members of the Milwaukee Fire Department Boat Team, and take part in family-friendly activities. Kids will also have the chance to operate firefighting hoses on simulated fires during interactive demonstrations.
