Model Railroad Engineer
Railroad Engineer volunteers will be tasked with daily upkeep of the Discovery World 35-food HO-scale model railroad featuring five trains and Milwaukee landmarks. This is an independent maintenance role under the guidance of the Discovery World Maintenance Department.
- Experience with NCE-DCC control, electrical troubleshooting, scenery touchup, track maintenance, basic locomotive and rolling stock troubleshooting including wheel gauge and coupler height checking helpful.
- This position requires standing, sitting and under layout access on a rolling creeper as well as reaching, twisting and bending.
Qualifications
Minimum 16 years old. Online background check for those over 18, Liability Waiver, and Confidentiality Policy required.
Training
Training on our specific requirements and layout provided.
Scheduling
Minimum 1 shift per month for a total of 28 hours (8 shifts). Shifts will be discussed with the maintenance staff, but are flexible between 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Sunday.
